Who lived there and what's the story behind the name? To be honest I never gave much thought as to how a house got its name, but was definitely intrigued when I saw this book. This was a very interesting read. I loved the pictures of the gorgeous old homes. It's also fascinating to see how much was brought over from "across the pond." Caroline has a stunning new beach house. It's meant to impress the people who attend her expensive parties and it's supposed to be a vacation house for her and the family she thought she'd have. But her husband is lying to her and her life is turned upside down. She turns to the stranger she saw outside her house for comfort and revenge. This fling means nothing to Caroline, but it means everything to Aiden. His obsession with Caroline, her house and her family is disturbing. And when her husband goes missing, she's accused of his murder. This started off okay, but not long into the book it all began to unravel quickly. The writing was absolutely terrible. It's amateurish - repetitive, hard to follow and the story dragged. The characters weren't that great. The whole thing lacked depth. It was all so awful. Lucy is standing up for equal rights for women, Woodstock takes up farming, Peppermint Patty is having trouble with schoolwork, Charlie Brown's bad luck lands him in the hospital, and Snoopy's just having a good ol' time. Peanuts comics are always a joy to read and they always bring a smile to my face. It doesn't matter how old you are, pick up a copy! There's something in here for everyone. Chloe has just come out of a coma. She has no memory of what happened to her and she doesn't recognize the strangers that call themselves her family. As she returns to her parents home to recover, she begins to uncover their secrets and lies and starts to remember her old life and what she lost. I saw this on Netgalley and decided not to request it because it sounds like so many others I've read. But then I got an invite to read it, so I figured why not. It started off good. I was very interested to find out what Chloe's family was hiding and why. It's not a bad book, but there was nothing special about it to make it stand out.
