Still Alice

I couldn’t put this book down!

My heart broke for Alice, an intelligent fifty year old woman with a successful career as a Harvard professor, who has been diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease. The author really made me feel like I knew Alice personally and that I was helplessly going through her decline with her. Beautifully written.

On Monday afternoon, five students at Bayview High end up in detention together. None of them are friends and they're all completely different from one another. Bronwyn is the smart girl, over-achiever and she never breaks a rule. Addy is the pretty girl and homecoming princess, and she has the hottest boyfriend at Bayview. Cooper is the athlete and an all-star pitcher. Nate is the criminal who is on probation for dealing drugs. And Simon is the social outcast and creator of Bayview High's notorious gossip app. Simon has posted some very juicy stuff on that app and has hurt a lot of people in the process.
